After a long period without coming here, today I've decided that i could not postpone any more updating this baby. I had good intentions on the last couple of months but life was hectic, and still is, but I needed to focus all of my energies on other project.

Moving on, let's start with my new makeup acquisitions :) who would have known that i would become such a makeup addict?!

Makeup new entries

2015 is definitely the year I woke up to the world of makeup. It's incredible when you finally realize how to apply products, and understand textures and colors. I've started to post here (every tow months) some of my makeup purchases, and I hope to continue doing that for the rest of the year.

2015 é oficialmente o ano em que eu despertei para o mundo da maquilhagem. É incrível finalmente começar a perceber como aplicar os produtos, entender as suas funções e compreender melhor as diferentes texturas e colorações.  Comecei a postar a cada dois meses neste meu cantinho algumas das minhas compras, agora vamos lá ver se consigo manter o ritmo.

The mini mini Porefessional

I am an avid consumer and lover of travel size items and miniatures. They are so practical to carry on my bag and also for travelling, plus they are so adorable! (I have to make a miniatures post).

So you can imagine how much I love these Benefit products in the picture.

Baby steps into the beauty world

I'm a newcomer in the beauty world. I'm an avid consumer of cosmetics but when it comes to get all dolled up with some makeup forget it, I have no clue what to do!

It's not that I didn't have any products or didn't know how to apply them, but I though it was time to pass to the next level (level 2 I dare say). So after watching hundreds of make up tutorials on youtube (I'll leave bellow the links to my favourite channels) I've decided that it was time to purchase basic items that were a major flaw in my tiny collection. 

I've decided to give up a try on Kiko, the italian makeup brand, which has very affordable prices and good quality. Because I'm a beginner I don't want to invest to much money right away. First I like to get familiarized with using the products and then, on a second stage, I would buy and test other brands.

So I ended up buying (on sales!!!!) a powder brush - this brush is amazing, I bought it to use it with a normal powder but it's also perfect to apply brightener and bronzer in a single step (the next products on my to buy list); a concealer - yes, now I can see how ridiculous I was not owning such a preciosity; a taupe-white eye pencil - I'm in love with this pencil, it lasts forever!!!; a face powder - any excuse will do to use that powder brush :) and also the powder "secures" the makeup and prevent that oily shine that my skin sometimes insists on having; and finally the tangle teezer which is not a beauty product and actually is a christmas present that I got from my mom, but i wanted to share  it with you. It needless to say how fabulous this brush is.

Oversized Orange

My new baby, Oversized Orange chubby stick!

I was looking for a chubby stick from Clinique for a while so I've took advantage to buy one at the duty free shop at the airport. This orange tone won me over, it's not too bright but still gives a "warm up" on your lips colour.

Expiration Date

It's not only food that has expiration date, cosmetics and make up also have an expiration date. People tend to ignore it but it's very important to pay attention to this because the quality of the products is altered with time.

Only recently I've found out what these containers with numbers meant (shame on me!)

The open containers mean that after opening the product the same will last 36,12 or 9 months (respectively). 
This is the most common indication, while some products come with a set date (month/year).


My problem is that I tend to forget when i open the products (it happens all the time)  so I think I've found the solution on this image, stickers where you can put the date of openning.

Proenza Schouler for Mac

Proenza Schouler teamed up with Mac cosmetics and created a makeup line.
Loyal do Mac essence there will be a wide range of colours with an highlight on the superbright palette, punctuated by the occasional peachy nude.
Inspiration and creativity were things that couldn't be missed in this partnership, which transpired not only in the products as in the packaging design.

Air Kiss

When it comes to beauty I always get lost in the amount of products available and which are or aren't best for me. Regarding cleansing and moisturizing rituals I've got my favourites and do everything to keep my complexion as healthy as possible. As for makeup I feel miles away. Usually I don't use it on a daily basis plus I own pretty much nothing (just the basics of course!). On day to day, a gloss on the lips and nail polish can work wonders. But there are those days, that dark circles and tired skin aren't acceptable and the time comes to "camouflage". Given all that, this year I've made the resolution to bet more in this "world" and start to learn more and buy a few products.

Clinique needs no introduction, their products are of exceptional quality but their prices tend to be a little above from the cosmetics brands that are available on supermarkets.

 Being in the middle of sales season (I'll never get tired of talking about this!) this is an amazing opportunity to pay a visit to cosmetic shops, explore them and check out the products that have discount.

So yesterday there I went, and bought this lip gloss from Clinique which its initial price was €19,80 for €11.80 . The gloss is long lasting and has SPF15.
