After a long period without coming here, today I've decided that i could not postpone any more updating this baby. I had good intentions on the last couple of months but life was hectic, and still is, but I needed to focus all of my energies on other project.

Ceramic tiles on the table

Yes, ceramic tiles, you read it right! My favourite portuguese decor shop, A Loja do Gato Preto, launched a few items of tableware inspired on portuguese ceramic tiles. As soon as I saw them I knew that we would be a happy family, so it will not be long to see some of the pieces here!


Azulejos na mesa, é verdade, é esse o nome do post! Porquê, perguntam vocês? Pois bem, a minha loja preferida de artigos de decoração, A Loja do Gato Preto, lançou algumas peças em louça inspiradas em azulejos portugueses. Assim que vi a coleção soube logo que íamos ser uma família feliz, por isso, não vai tardar muito para verem algumas das peças por aqui! 

Makeup new entries

2015 is definitely the year I woke up to the world of makeup. It's incredible when you finally realize how to apply products, and understand textures and colors. I've started to post here (every tow months) some of my makeup purchases, and I hope to continue doing that for the rest of the year.

2015 é oficialmente o ano em que eu despertei para o mundo da maquilhagem. Parque Nacional da Gorongosa e Continente

Hoje trago-vos uma ótima sugestão para presentes, a nova coleção Note! do Continente inspirada no Parque Nacional da Gorongosa. 
O Parque Natural da Gorongosa é um dos maiores parques africanos situado no coração de Moçambique e tem como principais objectivos a proteção e preservação da natureza e vida selvagem, além de ajudar as comunidades locais.
A coleção tem como objectivo angariar fundos para a conservação do parque. Por cada artigo vendido o Continente contribuirá com 50 cêntimos para esta causa. A coleção de artigos de papelaria inclui cadernos, capas, sacos, postais, livros e lápis de cor. 
Eu já tenho oferecido uns quantos presentes destes e têm feito muito sucesso. Quem é que não gosta de receber um caderninho (que tanto jeito dá para tomar notas) e ainda para mais para ajudar no causa destas?!

Futah

Futah is portuguese brand devoted to beach towels. I've heard about it last year and ever since I'm dying to have my own. 

So what is special about beach towels you may ask? Well, to start Futah's towels are completely the opposite of the heavy and chunky traditional "bath towels". They are 100% made of egyptian cotton, super light, absorb perfectly and are resistant. All of these together with vibrant colours and prints. 

The brand embodies the Portuguese soul having  portuguese beaches as its main inspiration as you can see by the collections names. Every collection has a name of a portuguese beach.

A Futah é uma marca 100% portuguesa que se dedica exclusivamente a toalhas de praia. Ouvi falar da marca à cerca de um ano e desde então só penso em ter uma.

O que é que têm de especial estas toalhas perguntam vocês? Para começar, as futah são o oposto das habituais toalhas de praia, que para mim são pesadonas além de ocuparem imenso espaço na mala.  After the Zara inspiration, now Mango come up with their version, "Mise en Mango". The earrings are available in two colours (gold and silver), and at 5,99€ I'm thinking to buy both!

Depois da Zara ter lançado a sua versão, agora é a vez da Mango, "Mise en Mango". Os brincos estão disponíveis em duas cores (dourado e prateado), e a 5,99€ estou a pensar comprar as duas versões!

"Mise en Zara"

As soon as I saw this pair of Zara's earrings I immediately reminded of the Dior earring that was a huge success last season, and still is.
It's a very soft and discrete version of the Dior piece, and for those like that cannot afford the Dior earring this is a good option. 
Apparently I'm not the only one thinking the same thing, since I've seen all week girls wearing it, specially on the blogsphere. Anyway, I don't care, it's just a small  (gorgeous) pair of earrings, so I bought them and I plan to wear them a lot! :)

Essentials before Trends

Before I start showing you the new trends for this fall/winter season I decided to talk about (once again) the wardrobe essentials.
Every new season I "realize" that I have "a ton" of things lacking on my wardrobe... Actually, the garments in question are normally trends that I had seen on magazines, fashion shows, shops, blogs, etc... And then suddenly this urge to buy more clothes. In reality, I'm very restrained when it comes to trends, there are trends that I love and I might wear, while there are others that are simply not my cup of tea, so obviously I don't use.

Well, all of this chatting to say that is normal with the beginning of a new season founding ourselves leaning towards trendy garments and that's the correct thing to do, but always with this thought in mind: Trends come and go, so don't spend a lot of money on them (save that money for basics) and buy them in the beginning of season, so that you can make the most of it.

So, before shopping this season trends I recommend  checking your wardrobe and see if you have the essentials, the basics, that you are going to match with your new fashionable pieces.

I confess, I'm shoe addict.

Well, who isn't, right?! My argument to resist on buy these beloved items that are shoes is that I don't have any more space on my wardrobe to keep them, but today I run over that fact not once, but twice! Shame on me, but I could I leave them on the shops??
I looked for a pair of sandals all summer that could be casual and chic (check!) and today I've found this lovely pair at Lanidor on sale :) 
And the flats were love at first sight as soon as I saw them in Zara last weekend, so today I didn't think twice and I brought them with me. The flats remind Chanel (a lot) and are very versatile.
Now, I just have to find room for these babies.

Oversized Orange

My new baby, Oversized Orange chubby stick!

I was looking for a chubby stick from Clinique for a while so I've took advantage to buy one at the duty free shop at the airport. This orange tone won me over, it's not too bright but still gives a "warm up" on your lips colour.

COS arrives in Portugal

COS, the famous clothing brand from the H&M group makes its debut in Portugal with its very first shop on the prestigious Avenida da Liberdade, Lisbon. 

For the ones who are unfamiliar with this brand, COS (Collection of Style) is the litle sister of H&M, present on the top cities, mostly in Europe. 
 It says it combines “design and high quality at an affordable price,” but places itself in a slightly higher segment than the called "fast-fashion".  It has collections for men, women, and children, where minimalist is the word of command.

I can't wait to go there and have a sneak peak on the fall/winter collection!

I couldn't resist you... Cantê

Cantê's collection has blown my mind away, and I couldn't resist not having a piece on my wardrobe. The chosen one was Esther. As soon as I saw it on the lookbook I knew it was perfect for me.

I'm very pleased with its quality and fitting, and also with the quickness of the girls of the shop that replied all my emails and within a day my order was at home.
