Get your skin ready for summer: Tips

Beach days are here and I've decided to compile a list of tips to help you getting a fabulous skin during summer.



- Moisturize is the buzzword! Drink at least 2 liters of water a day and don't forget to moisturize your body on a daily basis.

- A healthy diet is a must for the whole year. With that in mind, to help you preparing your skin for sun exposure and also to achieve a long lasting tan you should include these fruits and vegetables on your summer diet: pineapple, orange, lemon, watermelon, melon, strawberry, peach, watercress, sweet potatoes, beets, broccoli, carrots, spinach and tomato.

- Sun exposure. Never forget to put sunscreen and  reapply it throughout the day. Wear a hat and avoid sun exposure during the biggest heat hours.

- Skin care. Besides the daily moisturizing routine I suggest a weekly body exfoliation, this way you remove any dead cells, leaving the skin smoother and ready for a uniform suntan. Unfortunately (for me at least) baths should be taken with tepid or cold water as hot water dries the skin.




Os dias de praia já chegaram, por isso, decidi compilar uma pequena lista de dicas de como obter uma pele fabulosa durante o verão.

- Hidratar é a palavra de ordem! Beber pelo menos 2 litros de água por dia e não esquecer de passar creme hidratante diariamente por todo o corpo.

- Uma alimentação cuidada é regra para o ano todo. Mas há certos alimentos em que podem apostar já que ajudam a preparar a pele e manter o bronzeado, tais como: abacaxi, laranja, limão, melancia, melão, morango, pêssego, agrião, batata-doce, beterraba, brócolos, cenoura, espinafres e tomate.

- Exposição Solar. Nunca esquecer de colocar protetor solar e ir reaplicando ao longo do dia. Usar chapéu e evitar a exposição solar nas horas de maior calor.

- Cuidar da pele. Para além da hidratação diária sugiro uma esfoliação semanal no corpo, desta forma remove-se todas as células mortas, o que deixa a pele muito mais lisa e pronta para um bronzeado mais uniforme. Em relação aos banhos devem ser tomados com água morna ou fria visto que a água quente seca muito a pele.

O que é que têm de especial estas toalhas perguntam vocês? Para começar, as futah são o oposto das habituais toalhas de praia, que para mim são pesadonas além de ocuparem imenso espaço na mala. São feitas de 100% algodão egípcio, super leves, muito absorventes e resistentes. Para além disto tudo, são giras que se fartam, tem cores e padrões veranis inspirados pelas praias portuguesas. Alias, a essência da marca é mesmo essa, as futah têm alma portuguesa, todas as coleções têm por base de inspiração (e nome também) uma praia portuguesa.

Cantê Lx - Tropical state of mind

The 2015 Cantê Lx collection was finally released! Seriously, I was counting the days in a (almost) despair state. But last friday, after refreshing their facebook page a gazillion times, the 2015 swimwear collection was officially released.

First impressions: this is the summer of swimsuits. We've seen them a lot for a couple of summers but this is it's year. It's the ultimate statement piece to have. I couldn't agree more, swimsuits can do wonders for a woman figure and look incredibly cool.

There are also a few high waist pieces, like bikinis and also swimsuits. The tropical prints are also a reference of the brand (the prints are designed by Cantê), and of course couldn't miss on the collection. The predominant colours that were used are white, green, blue and turquoise.

In overall, the collection kept the essence of the brand but has brought some novelties, like new shapes and silhouettes.

Which are your favorite models?

A coleção de Verão da Cantê Lx foi finalmente lançada! A sério, eu estava a chegar a um estado de desespero com esta espera. Mas na sexta-feira, depois de ter atualizado um milhão de vezes a página de facebook da marca, a coleção de 2015 foi oficialmente lançada.

Primeiras impressões: este é o Ano dos fatos-de-banho. Já os tínhamos visto nos últimos dois anos, mas este ano a peça dominou por completo a coleção. Para mim, é a peça a ter, os fatos-de-banho podem fazer maravilhas na figura feminina além de darem um ar muito in e cool.

Também há vários modelos de cintura subida, quer em biquínis e fatos-de-banho. Os padrões tropicais tão característicos da marca (os padrões são desenhados pela Cantê) não podiam deixar de aparecer. As cores predominantes foram o branco, verde, azul e turquesa.

Em geral, a coleção manteve a sua essência mas trouxe várias novidades, como novas e formas e silhuetas.

Quais são os vossos modelos favoritos? 

Sunblock

The sun's rays are very tempting, and at this point we want to absorb as much vitamin D as possible, but we can not forget that they can also be dangerous if proper protection methods are not used. That is why, that you can't
forget the sunblock, an hat and avoiding the sun between 12 to 16 pm.
I always use SPF 50 for the face and body and carry on my bag an hat and a bottle of water to keep hydrated.

Caia, Beach Pillows

Summer has officially arrived despite of its shyness. With the hope that this awkward weather will fade away on the next days I'll bring you another stylish suggestion for the beach/pool days.

If you are in Portugal you probably have heard about or seen this brand. Caia is a brand of beach pillows that has become a success since its launch in 2012.

The pillows are made of plastic cotton and are fully stitched (they don't open) and are made in Portugal.
Their unique design, with a big diversity of prints, and quality make them so desirable.

Temperatures continue to rise and my thoughts go straight to those summer days spent on the beach. 

Today, I show you another portuguese bikini brand, Bohemian Swimwear. Its concept is a mix of styles, brazilien, australian and hawaiian. The brand primes for sofisticated and exclusive designs, with high attention to details and bohemian prints.

With the warm temperatures in sight and the colour splashes on every showcase, it's inevitable to think about warm summer days spent on the beach. With that thought in mind it's normal that our eyes land on colourful swimsuits and bikinis. 
Despite the wide variety presented on shops, it's always difficult to find a perfect piece. With perfect I mean, the right shape, good support, a great fabric, an unique desgin and drop dead gorgeous! ;)
So on my regular research online I've found this portuguese swimwear brand. Their pieces fulfill all the requisites: attention to details, quality fabrics, fabulous design and the extra bonus, all pieces are unique and limited!
